However, this is a sage species more common to the central plains. It is said to burn sweeterand milder than California white sage, which we also carry. This sage has been used by tribal Americans to purify the mind, body, and spirit before praying; purify the atmosphere; dispersing negativity; and purify sacred items. It may be used to purify homes, offices, and/or cars. In a medicine pouch, it is said to insure physical and spiritual safety. Medicinally, it has astringent, antiseptic, carminative, and disinfectant properties. In southwest cooking, it adds a pleasantly sharp flavor that contrasts well with sweet or fruity sauces. |
