Incense Making Supplies

Since we make our own incense, we thought some of our customers might like to purchase supplies for making their own incense.  Therefore, the list below includes several different supplies we use and are willing to supply to you.  If you are looking for powdered herbs to use in making incense, click here.

Cone punks are used in making hand-dipped cone incense.  We are actually not going to make cone incense anymore because we have not found a cone punk that will stay lit.  Unlike stick punks, cones are not bundles, so you may purchase as many as you like.

Some people get headaches from the firecracker punks.  An alternative is using a charcoal punk, although we have never personally tested putting oil on one.  These are sold by the gram, so the number of stick you receive will vary.

Disposable gloves are available at your local supermarket in the pharmacy section.  However, we are happy to sell you a pair of gloves from our box.  The reason we use disposable rather than something like reusable kitchen gloves is the scent will get into the kitchen gloves and may bleed into other incenses.

Protective face masks are available at hardware stores.  We use and sell the fiber ones with the metal strip on the nose for adjustment.  One should don as much protection as possible when working with incense chemicals.

The way I have chosen to allow incense to dry is to stick it in a block of floral styrofoam.  Floral styrofoam is dense enough to keep the stick erect.

This simple wooden tool is used to make an impression in sand.  The sand is then filled with makko powder.  The tool is then used to compress the makko powder.  The powder is then lit, like a charcoal, and incense is placed on top of the burning makko.
