Further Information:  The scent of Lemon Myrtle has been called "more lemon than lemon." Its Citral content is indeed higher than that of Lemon essential oil. Lemon Myrtle has similar properties to Tea Tree essential oil, and many say that it is more potent than Tea Tree. It is antibacterial, antifungal, and germicidal. It is excellent for acne and oily skin when diluted 3:1 in a carrier oil such as Grapeseed oil. Emotionally, it is very uplifting and antidepressant. Studies in Australia and Japan even show that it can be effective against Herpes virus.
