Celebrate the warmer weather with someone special with this blend of patchouli and ginger. As of 5/1/2007, this is a new recipe which includes cocoa absolute! Additional Information: Also known Beltain, May Eve, May Day, and Samradh, Beltane takes place on May 1, the cross quarter between spring equinox and summer solstice. Beltane is basically a festival of fertility, symbolized by the Lord and the Lady consumating their relationship. Ritually, the balefire is jumped to insure protection, and the May pole is danced to select a mate. Also, bells are rung to scare away bad spirits. Colors associated with this holy day are red, white, and pink. This is said to be a great day for new beginnings. It also brings an end to spring planting, although here in Colorado we usually begin planting around Memorial Day. |
