It should not be used during pregnancy, however, it is especially useful in a birthing room, where it calms the expectant mother while encouraging labor. It is a sedative which can help with fear and anxiety, as well as soothing a migraine headache. Clary Sage works on the nerves; bringing a feeling of euphoria, warmth, and joy. Because of this effect, it is known as an aphrodisiac. Also because of this effect, it should NEVER be used with alcohol. Clary Sage lowers blood pressure and is effective for panic attacks and vertigo. It also deals with infections of the skin and can be used for acne and dandruff. This oil is best when mixed with other essential oils as a personal perfume or when emulsified into the bath water with a bath salt. It is a wonderful oil to be carried in a scent pendant, to be used as an inhaler in stressful situations. |
